Random...

I have so many random things running through my head right now...gonna lay them down here so hopefully I can actually sleep tonight (that is if RG cooperates).

1) How much I miss my Texas "family"... and our "home" there (aka our house)
christmas last year
2) Just found out my principal from last year is resigning to go be with his elder mother... can't think of a more self-less thing to do... so sad for the school but so admirable on his part.  If it weren't for him my teaching career would have never started. I will forever be grateful!

3)Baylor... WOW... SIC EM. I just can't get over how awesome all of the sports teams are doing this year... my heart is leaping with joy! As if that's not enough... Baylor has a "spread" in Sports Illustrated this issue
from BU's website
4)Both my body and mind are tired... praying for some GOOD sleep from Little Miss tonight!

5)I am still frustrated that picnik is closing... seriously yall... I hate google for that! ugh.
 (ummm hello project 365!)

6)My heart LEAPS with joy over how blessed I am beyond measure... I mean, family, friends, health, house, food.... that barely scrapes the surface...  my cup overflows! Thank you Jesus for my blessings!
via
6) I seriously have the most precious gift here on earth:

7) My life is wonderful (even if there are bumps in the road sometimes!)... do not let me ever forget that.  Help me remember that I can't always do it all! Praise God for his eternal LOVE and Grace! :) Amen!

Weekend Wrap Up, K's Family.

Happy Labor Day!!

This weekend has been super fun! Thursday night K's dad and little brother came into town to visit. Thursday night we went to dinner at a great Taco place with a fun atmosphere and then came home to relax.
Friday, K was off work so he took the men fishing at a state park near here and they caught a few lil fellas! K might post about this later on at his blog so I don't want to steal his pictures just in case. :)  Friday night we stayed in and watched tv/movies and ordered my favorite pizza, Papa John's !! Delish!
Saturday, I was off work but sweet K had to work so the three of us hung out at the house most of the morning then met K for lunch.  We went grocery shopping that afternoon and K's little brother grilled us some delicious steaks on the grill, along with fresh corn on the cob and mashed potatoes!  We had a great evening just relaxing and enjoying each others company.(More on Saturday in a separate post- it was a pretty special day...)
Sunday, both K and I were off (finally) and we decided that we would all go fishing again at the same state park.  We packed up, headed out, and picked our spot.  When we finally settled in a spot we sat, and sat, and sat.  We had a few good bits but nothing bit hard enough to take the line. :(  We still had a great time hanging out even though it was rather warm outside!  We headed back to the house and my next door neighbors had been grilling out all day- lots of chicken, ribs, etc. for my neighbors brothers birthday.  We said hi and they ended up inviting us over to hang out.  We had a great time and it ended up almost being a small block party as several neighbors came over and hung out.  We headed back to the house to clean up and hung out for awhile before going to BWW (Buffalo Wild Wings) for a later dinner.  Food was great but service was iffy as always ha.  When we got back to the house the neighbors were still out hanging out and told us to come back over so we did.  We spend most of the night over there just hanging out enjoying the rather nice breezy weather.
This morning we woke up and laid around the house until almost lunch time when we headed down to Ben and Jerry's to try and find a t-shirt that K's dad wanted for a friend.  That was unsuccessful but we did enjoy a delicious lunch at Blue Goose (tex-mex) and did a little shopping at James Avery.  Karl exchanged his second wedding band for a nice crucifix necklace on a pretty leather chord, his dad replaced his wedding band because his current one doesn't fit anymore, and I got my necklace that K got me for Christmas polished.  We made a quick trip to wally world to pick up a hard drive to put our wedding pics on and send back to K's mom and then came home;  It was time for them to pack up and leave.
We had a great time- and I know that K especially enjoyed their company!! It was hard to tell them goodbye but we hope we will see them again soon!

I hope that all of you had a great Labor Day weekend! Back to reality tomorrow... guess I better get on those lesson plans :( At least its only a 4 day week!!! Praise God! :)

Blessed (in more ways than one) !

Okay so first off I really do not want to get in the habit of only writing every two days. but here goes again...
Yesterday was quite a productive day! I think that I have been so excited about getting married and having a new roommate that I woke up yesterday at 9am, and happily jumped out of bed and got to work. If you know me at all... well... yah, thats NOT me ha! So by getting to work I mean I went to my office/junk room/extra bedroom and got to cleaning out the closet that was still full of boxes from when I bought my house over a year ago. Why didn't someone just come over and throw that stuff out for me? Obviously I haven't missed it in the past year so why would I now... anyways, story of my sentimental/pack-rat life! So now that the closet is cleaned out (cheering!) the room is a complete train wreck!! Not only that but so is my hall and everywhere around the room. I guess you have to make a bigger mess before really cleaning up, or at least thats my story and I'm stickin to it! So yea, that room is still a work in progress- My goal is to completely clean out that closet to use to store my out of season clothing, because to be completely honest, I have been really living in my house -- living- to the full extent of the meaning of that word! So where will the soon to be hubby put his things... well thats the issue I am trying to resolve. By 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon I had had enough of that for the day.
Met one of my sweet YL girls for lunch and went shopping after- Garden Ridge occupied me for about an hour and after thinking long and hard about some purchases (mainly new patio furniture) I decided that I would "wait and think about it". That might not seem so productive- but thats huge progress for my impulsive buying habits that I am trying to break- or at least get a better hold on. Welcome to married life right?! ha! So I have to share with you- and vent just a little about this... (and sorry Jen if I sound like I am coping you but this hit me before I even read your blog ha) So its August right? and early August at that... but I walk into G.R. and this is what I am happily greeted with:
Clearly I wasn't the only one baffled by this because the lady that was walking in at the same time as me stopped, starred, looked and me and we both threw our arms up at the same time. Could this really be true!? Im all for planning ahead... but really people? Almost 5 months ahead!? No thank you! I would still like to be laying by the pool without thinking about which colorful Christmas tree I should be purchasing (none this color, thanks!) What are your thoughts on this?
Moving on.. . I met with another one of my wonderful YL girls, and we went to our place. And you wont be able to understand my obsession with "this place"... until you have had it! Its the BEST thing ever... Yogurt Land!! Anyways... here is a sample of my work :)
We had a wonderful time catching up- and I am still shocked that one of my YL babies is going off to COLLEGE this year, wow!
So, yea! That was my day pretty much and of course ended it with about a 3 hour convo on the phone with the fiance ;) ahhh i just love him!!
And all that just to catch you up with yesterday!? So just for your reading pleasure, I wont kill your eyes and Ill keep today short. Its days like today that I don't enjoy posting much on anyways because I'm a little embarrassed... It was a very lazy day! I did meet up with my dear, dear friend Tara. It was a very bittersweet day with her, we had a blast together, as always, BUT she is leaving me to go to Jordan (yes, the middle east- not the guy) for a FULL YEAR! I said my goodbyes, came home and got ready for dinner with another wonderful friend (wow! just writing about all of them reminds me how VERY blessed I am with some of the best friends in the world, and I'm not just saying that!)
Lori and I had a wonderful dinner with some of the best service ever! ha! It seemed like we were both having sorta rough nights but the moment we saw each other it was all better. We caught each other up on life. We talked wedding plans and shes a year up on me (being happily married since last summer) and she gave me some great advice, and just tips on married life in general. I love everything about her. I really believe she is my sister - and still to this day believe that God placed her in my life two years ago and had prepared us for each other. She was going through some of the same issues I was back then, and its neat to see Gods work in her life to prepare me in my ways of life. She had a short engagement, and is happily married to an amazing man! She is now mentoring me through my engagement and marriage. You go Lori! You go God!! So blessed!

My reunion with Texas!

Yesterday was such a whirl-wind of activities... it all started at 6:45 am when I rolled out of bed and got ready for my 7am hair appointment (mind you the salon is 5 mins from the house so I had all of 10 minutes to get ready ha!). Long story short about a month ago, right before my best friends wedding, I went to get my highlights "touched up" and I somehow managed to leave Toni & Guy with orange hair- no one really likes the color orange and let me just be honest and tell you- it looks way WORSE on your head! I was so upset about it my mom finally convinced me to go back and get my money back or get it fixed... ends up the same guy who messed it up went to "fix" it (oh, and did I mention he is also the assistant manager!)... 2 sets of highlights in 2 days = terrible for your hair and I was a nervous wreck!! Let me just tell you- it looked a little better but long story short it NEVER got "fixed" and when I demanded a refund for my heartache and soon to be hairless head (due to all the chemicals) Toni & Guy refused and only wanted to put more chemicals in my hair. um, NO thanks!! DO NOT EVER GO THERE!! So after a month of living with a beautiful (grr) strawberry blonde hair- and damaged- I went to get it done yet again but this time with a trusty friend in NC. She did a great job and my hair is now as blonde as it has ever been but it looks better than it did before. I still have an orange tint but was told I was going to have to live with it until my hair grows out :( sadness! but Ill get over it... I guess. Okay- enough ranting and raving about my hair. I had no intentions of telling that story when I started writing today but I guess I really needed to vent. grr. ha! Sorry for the not such "long story short"... more like "short story long" ha! okay... moving on with my life now.
So after the nice hair sesh (session) I headed to lunch with the fam at Juds. What a treat! They have the best burgers, mmm! I then had my wonderful aunt transport me to the airport to catch a flight back to Texas. It was bittersweet. First of all I was all jacked up on Dr. Pepper and next to no sleep which made for a quirky me, and on top of that I was dealing with the emotions of having to leave my wonderful mother, granddaddy, and the rest of my family, and missing my fiance more than ever :( that is not something I ever enjoy doing- saying goodbyes- and grandaddy reminded me that next time he saw me I would be Mrs. Pueschel- WOW! crazy awesomeneessss haha.)
Landed in Dallas a good 45 minutes early and was greeted by the wonderful Ms. McDougal who picked me up and took me back to her apt and had dinner ready when I got there! I hung out with the 2 Mrs. McDougals and RK and then headed home. It was so nice to see my house was still standing and that the grass was cut :) my flowers are a little outta-whack and the beds are full of weeds but I guess that's just one more project for me to do sometime this week. wahoo! NOT!
My two cousins who are in the Air Force in OK came over to my house and we went to Chili's, hung out, and had a blast catching up! That was the perfect end to a crazy long day!
Today wasn't near as eventful as yesterday but it was a good day. I slept in (oh how I have missed my bed!) then went and bought some groceries so that I would have food to eat this week. This Sunday was my week to greet at church so I got there around 4:15 and saw lots of friends who I hadn't seen in ages, and got lots of OOHs and AHHs about my ring- it seemed like that was all that everyone wanted to see ha. oh and lots of comments on the hair too ha. A couple of people just found out the news today and all were very excited. The sermon Matt spoke was very good and it was so nice to be back at my church home again. I could just feel the presence of the Lord in that place and oh do I love Him! :-D You can check out the sermon here (August 9, 2009) - I love how he speaks the truth of God so honestly. You will too. :) Church was followed by our Sunday night dinner with the same crew and to no surprise we went to Rosa's! I don't feel like I have missed anything- just a typical Sunday night!
