Best Buy Troubles: A Venting Session!

Less than a year ago, hubby purchased me a brand new computer from Best Buy.  Almost immediately I started having weird "quirky" problems- like some of the keys not typing when I striked them, etc.  I use my computer all the time so taking it in for the "geek squad" protection- that we purchased for a somewhat pretty penny was put on the back burner.  It wasn't until a few weeks before Christmas that the issues got so bad that I decided to finally take the computer in.  When I took it in they said they would "check it out" and give me a call back.  A day or two later I get a call saying that my hard drive was failing.  Um... what? On a brand new computer? I was a bit annoyed to say the least.  The geek squad people said that they would replace the hard drive for free since it was under the manufacturer warranty and asked me if I wanted them to "back it up" to which I agreed.  They then explained that it was going to cost about $100 dollars. Excuse me? I have already purchased the protection so why do I need to spend more money!? Anyways-- all this to say they "let me" buy an adapter and told me I could back it up on my own but all that could be backed up (by both them or me) was pictures and docs.... okay great, now I have to find the product codes, etc for Microsoft Office, and other programs that I had installed. After spending about $50 dollars vs the $100 they were offering I brought the "like new" laptop home with a brand new hard drive.
I was excited to have the problems behind me and move on.  Not the case.  I am now more frustrated than ever-- all of the things that came on the computer were no longer there.  The Microsoft photo editing program that came on the computer is gone.  There is now nothing but paint (even to merely crop a photo).  The touch pad settings are gone-- I can no longer use the option to scroll on the touch pad- plus its so sensitive right now  that my hand is always touching it as I'm typing and I end up typing in the middle of another sentence I had started wherever the cursor was left (and the program I previously used to change these settings... I can't find them anywhere!)
Anyways- all of this to say, I am extremely frustrated with Best Buy. I am frustrated that they didn't truly "fix" my computer but made me more irritated than before.  There is nothing on my computer - no pictures, or anything so therefore I have avoided getting on it to blog or do anything else for that matter.  I'm off to begin backing up my pictures on my own and probably call Best Buy customer service demanding they do something to help me out.

In other news, life is good :) I'll promise to blog about something worthwhile in the next day or so.  Is it too late to finally post my January Goals? I mean, I have them written down but just haven't blogged about them yet.
Okay, off to work on this crazy computer and get it back to the way I "like" it. {sorry for the lack of pictures!}

Thanks for listening ha!

In a Years Time...

I can not believe all that has happened in my (our) life in just the past year.... and really so much more has happened this is just some highlighted things...where to begin?!

-Completed my first year of teaching with some of the most wonderful teachers and students
-Got laid off for the second time in 4 years due to the "economy"
-Put our house up for rent (also our first home together)
-Said goodbye to my wonderful church and church family as well as countless friends
-Moved to NC living with my mom while I was 6 months pregnant
-I Survived living without my hubby all summer while he was working out of town.
-My parents put their TX house up for sale that we had lived in since I was 10 years old
-My parents moved from TX to Mississippi
-Rented out our first house in TX (praise God!)
-Moved into a 2 bedroom condo in NC that was basically "gifted" temporarily by a family member!
-K got a new job- we were so thankful God provided
-Taken many trips to the beach
-Spent countless hours with our awesome families here in NC
-Gave birth to my wonderful, beautiful daughter!!

-Celebrated my first REAL Mother's Day! -Went from being "unemployed" to a "full time stay at home mom"

I'm not writing this as a sob story rather just to document all of the changes I have been going through over the past year.
Its sometimes hard for me to be completely open and honest here on my blog about "not so happy" things because I don't want people feeling bad for me but it's time I open up a little and get this off my chest.
Times haven't been totally easy for me (us) this past year yet we have had some wonderful moments and made great memories. Saying goodbye to TX was extremely hard for me after having lived there for nearly 17 years. Much harder for me than K since he had only been living there since we got married about 2 (almost 3 now) years earlier. Not only did I say goodbye to all of my friends but I also had to say goodbye to the home, town, church, friends, and family where I grew up.
Anyone that knows me knows that I am not a huge fan of change, especially when it's not something I have control over. Many of these changes happened so fast and were out of my control that I am still processing many of them.
I know that I am blessed beyond measure but sometimes life tends to get me down (don't we all have these moments occasionally?). I have been blessed with a wonderful husband, perfectly healthy daughter and a huge family who constantly surrounds me with unconditional love.
I'm praying for contentment as the days roll on and also that k and i would be able to find a home church here.  I'm praying for ways for the two of us to get plugged in and to meet new friends (this has been especially difficult for me as a stay at home mom!!). I'm praying that one day (hopefully sooner than later) K and I will be able to purchase a home here in NC- we are sooo grateful for the condo we are living in but we have the stuff that fit in our (much larger) home, crammed into a 2 bedroom condo ha! (and we all know I have a ton of junk!)
I know I'm not the only one whom "life" is happening to right now... Just trying to keep it real here.

On a more positive note tomorrow I leave for the weekend to hang out with my family and K-- our family reunion is this coming week... I'm excited but super bummed because K won't get to stay the whole week- at least he will get to spend the weekend's with us!! :) Miss Raleigh Grace is going to meet some more family and even meet her cousin who is only a few months younger than her! :) Thanks in advance for listening and for all your prayers and support! :)

And because this little girl makes all things better ;)
so smart ;)
(she tried yogurt for the first time today and loved it! Banana then blueberry!)

i was gonna...but then...ugh!

well I was going to do my 29 week post today (a day or 2 late) but I am really exhausted so I think I will wait and do it when I have more energy... I'm in a state of BLAH right now and maybe its just because I'm tired... lets hope anyways!
this is totally NOT depressing because life can be so much worse but i am a little sad that I found my first few stretch marks on my belly tonight! I thought I had a scratch on my tummy and after looking closer I noticed there were 4 on the left of my belly button down low. then I just had to look again and find a couple of more on the right side.  I didn't think i was exempt from these bad boys but I really don't feel like my belly is 1/2 as large as it is going to be (according to what everyone tells me) so now I am a little freaked out that my tummy is going to look like a huge maze by the time this is all said and "done".  Oh the things we do for our little angels :) Love you Raleigh Grace and I will endure as many as these horrid things needed as to make your home the most cozy and nurturing place it can be :)
Okay, done with my rant. {ill spare you pics of this hah}

oh! yesterday, I spent an hour or two attempting to make some hair bows for Raleigh Grace-- let me just tell you- it wasn't as easy as I had expected... but I did end up with one or two "cute" ones... I really have a long ways to go though! ha {my cousin was helping me and at one point said, I think I'll just end up buying some bows... she might have the right idea! ha} I dont have any pics right now but will take some and post soon.

tomorrow, off to get my hair done. i always get nervous when I am getting anything done to my hair and this time is no different.  I'm just getting the highlights touched up, i hope i dont end up with orange hair... eek! I also am trying to finalize some "outfits" for my maternity shoot later this week.  i am terrible at picking out cute things and TOTALLY miss having roommates to pick out my outfits for me :(  I need to get some cute shoes and accessories tomorrow but I dont have the money to buy some for 100 different outfits... do you see my dilemma? ha!
{See, I told you I'm tired and just ranting away...}

good part of the day/night: hanging out with my friend heather, lunch with my stepmom at Oasis... mmm!, dinner- pizza with my stepmom and uncle glen who was in town, then bachelorette (which obama had to interrupt with his speech about the debt crisis... seriously, he should have done that speech earlier not in the middle of my show!ha)

I'll be back in a better mood shortly ;) promise!! gnite ya'll!

PS-- I'm totally a JP fan :)

vent, then come to my crib!

okay can I first vent for a sec? ok... thanks! ha

first of all, I am an idiot... apparently the last episode of extreme couponing was several weeks ago and the next season doesn't air until September.  I am royally angry with TLC for continuing to advertise on their website that its on on Wed's at 10, 9 Central. UGH! Anyways, so I didn't get to watch that last night as I had hoped. Not a huge deal but lets be honest, I had been looking forward to it for several days (call me lame, whatev.)

then... today. omg. doctors offices are going to be the death of meeeeeeee!! please do not anyone, anywhere, ever move while you are pregnant!! it has caused me many a headache! grrr! you would think that the crazy receptionists at the OBGYN's office for goodness sake would know about a dang glucose test that i dont really want to take anyways but know I have to for the sake of my dear child is and that I need to have it taken during a certain time period.  WHY COULD THEY NOT UNDERSTAND THIS!? why did I have to play Dr. Allie today and tell them when I need to take it and why I MUST be seen in 2 weeks or else...!? gr.  anyways-- needless to say, between them not wanting to schedule me during the next 2 weeks *which is when I must have this horrid test done* and their crazy "rotations" (that's a whole another story...they don't let you see just one doctor here in  this crazy state-- you have to see them all-- all 15 of them during your pregnancy... do they do this anywhere else?? I'm sorry, I'm a bit modest and do not feel like "getting to know" 15 different doctors! ugh!) I am going to lose my dang mind.
Also, do they not know they are dealing with a crazy hormonal lady... do not make me cry because you won't understand what I am asking for and you refuse to make me an appointment ... blah! And then tell me that I cant have an appointment at the ONE location that does have an open spot in the next 2 weeks, then transfer to the real location I want to be seen at after that...! WHY can I NOT transfer!?!? They are BOTH your offices!! ugh!

okay. done.  let me just tell you-- this did not make for a happy me this afternoon. in fact- the only thing that helped me get out of that "rut" was hearing this song on the radio... I was not trying to let it make me happy, it just happened... ha, a little embarrassing but oh well, i was happy afterwards :) ...

(random point 1) now, on to more fun things (well not more fun than Miley...) but yea-- I went to lunch with awesome auntie today! Afterwards, we went to a cute little shop in town where I spotted this hilarious sign... NO i did NOT buy it but I still got a big laugh out of it and wanted to share it with you!
sorry for the crappy iphone quality... but you get the message right? ;)
I thought it was HILARIOUS! :)

(random point 2) and then... totally unrelated- I loved watching Yoda, the monster cat, taunting the fish, or should I say, the FISH taunting HIM... it was sooo funny!

the fish were literally congregating in that bottom corner of the tank swimming back and forth as Yoda pawed at the tank over and over... poor kitty! :)

(random point 3) oh and for those of you with little ones, Childrens Place is having an AMAZING sale on their clerance -- we're talking 75% off! Check it out-- I got 2 adorable beach hats for our litte girl for next summer for less than 5 dollars TOTAL!! WOWZER (and they have free shipping!!) Go check it... and no, they did not pay me  anything or give me anything to say this although if you are reading C.P... I'll accept offers :)

Well guys, its been fun but its late, I'm tried (and wide awake at the same time... crazy McAlisters tea... thats prob why my writing is a little all over the place more than usual tonight) so I'm gonna hit the hay..

Tomorrow= BEACH!!! Sad my honey won't be there but happy to enjoy some sunshine and sand! :)

Happy EARRLY 4th of July!!!...
...if I don't manage to get back on here before then... this weekend you might find me making these babies! MMM (thank you Pinterest!)
