Weekend Wrap Up

Okay sorry for the 100 updates today but I am dying to be caught up (which I will accomplish by THIS week!) :)

I felt I had to post about the last couple of days...

I have been dying to dye (ha) my hair but I haven't been able to decide what on earth to do with it.  Well finally, I decided I would get some minimal highlights put in it.
Friday, I went to Toni & Guy and spent most of my night there getting my partial highlights done.  I LOVE IT!! I seriously had been in a MAJOR slump with my hair and HATED how it looked every time I went to the mirror.  The color was just yuck! Now it looks like I am ready for summer and I even feel better about myself & my looks- I am not shallow but I had just been getting down on myself for looking .... um... gross. ha! (I know it was not that bad to everyone else but I saw it).
Here is a not-so-great picture of the success!
see the blonde up top?

Saturday I slept in *yay* and had lunch with K.  Then Sat night I met up with my neighbor and some friends for my first game of BUNCO!  I have to say I had a BLAST and I even won BIG!! :) Its a great game to get a group together and play once a month or so *thats what they all do-- I was a sub last night*  But good times good times!

This morning K & I had planned on going to my besties for her baby shower and I was super excited about seeing her and their new house! K was pumped to hang out with her hubby too!  Unfortunately, I woke up feeling icky this am.  :( it was def no way to spend a 5 1/2 hour car ride so we opted out.  :( I hope you had a great day, Erin! I missed you and your baby *& B* a ton *so did karl* but we hope to see you soon!

This afternoon K & I were just laying around watching basketball GO DUKE and flipping between the race when our doorbell rang.  Our sweet little next door neighbor who isnt quite 2 was banging on the door :)  We went outside and talked to his mommy and grandma for some time and ended up they invited us over for dinner! Jeremy grilled up some amaaazing pork chops along with some potatoes, pasta, bread, green beans, corn, and maaaan! it was delish! After dinner we were sitting around talking when we realized the not quite 2 year old was missing... we knew he was up to no good!  When we finally found him-- he was sitting in the empty bathtub (he had already gotten his bath for the night earlier) in his PJ's, covered in liquid baby soap and shampoo.  he had it all over his clothes and in his hair.  It was quite the hoot.

Tomorrow- back to the grind-- only 10 more weeks and 3 days until summer (not that I am counting) hahahahah

Hope you all enjoy your Monday! Prayers that I make it through this week aliiiive :) Love to all my blogging friends :)

(a)mmmmmmmmmmmm(azing)!!!

So today was quite a stressful day at work.
long story short I got a sweet new kid in my class (2nd one in 3 weeks).  We (me/& the kids) rearranged their desks and made room for the newbie.  He is a sweet autistic kiddo and I am just praying that God leads me in how to teach him as I have had NO experience with this before.  Thankfully, I will have lots of help *i hope*! :)
So anyways, on top of that I just had a LOT to do in my classroom- this week is insanely busy... so I was stressed/tired/and hungry coming home from work which K figured out when I texted him.
And here is what I came home to...

um YES!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you most awesome, loving baby squoots! :) :)

oh and I'm sorry if I forgot to mention this before... 4 days until Spring Break! not that I'm doing anything fun... humph!

big news!

It seems as though I have been waiting FOREVER to share this big news with all of you! There are just certain people that we wanted to make sure knew *family* before we posted something online :)

(no I am not pregnant so you can stop sweating!) haha

The BIG NEWS is ................................that K got offered a job after his interview last week.  Thanks for all of your prayers & thoughts! It was a LITTLE intense- they made him have a physical, do a physical agility test, a drug test, and who knows what else... but hey- they called him the next day to offer him a job!!

He is going to be a merchandiser for the fifth largest Beer distributor in the country!  He will be in charge of setting up displays and such but not delivering.  This company has a greater potential for growth than where he was previously and hopefully the management will be a little LOTS more competent.

Hubs- I am so very proud of you and working hard for what you want!! You have such strong ethics and beliefs and I just love that about you! I love that you work hard whether or not you are in a job that you love or that you hate and whether or not it is your last week- you always give your ALL at EVERY thing that you do and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that about YOU!! There are so many reasons I love you but those are just a few! Cheers to you baby! MUCH love!!
Your PROUD Wifey! :)
love u K!

PS- I have no idea if we will get discounts or free beer but that too would be a nice perk :)

hodgepodge

a hodgepodge of random thoughts...

...that i have been wanting to get off my chest- don't judge me.  :)

Tonight we went to PotBellys for dinner and had a great time enjoying the music of our great friend, Taylor.  He plays guitar there every week and we really enjoy getting to hear him play.

We also had a great Thanksgiving at our house this year! My family drove in and we at lots of yummy food and my cousin did some amazing work on my flower bed, planted 2 trees for us and created a new bed! He is wonderful and we really enjoyed his company!! I have lots of pics that I will try and post at some point (fingers crossed)!

Last night K and I went to dinner at Panda Express (we go there a lot) and about 1:30 this morning I woke up sick and nauseous! I went to school this morning but ended up taking a 1/2 day and I'm still not feeling up to par.  I'm hoping this will pass tomorrow as lots of things are going on and I want to feel better.

K and I have been wanting to move back home and a post from one of my friends going home has brought it more to the forefront of my mind.

Babies.... and stay at home moms!

This Thursday I have my formal evaluation at school. Nervous but trying not to be nervous.

Marriage, thankful and grateful for my husband.

I'm worn out- sooo ready for Christmas break!

The End... thanks for listening and loving me still :)

The Weekend of Festivals!

Wheph, this weekend really flew by and was definitely fun-FILLED!
Friday night K and I had planned on going to see "Love Happens" but that didn't exactly work out. I had made dinner so that when he got off work we could eat around 8 then go to the movies... Well 8:45pm rolls around and I start to worry. Finally I get ahold of him and find out that he is getting off work late, and later, that his car won't start. I gladly picked him up and we came home and enjoyed a (late) dinner together. He figured we would be car shopping shortly and that this time it was his motor- shot. We attempted (and did a pretty good job I think) to put that on the back burner for the time being in order to enjoy our weekend together, and his ONE day off since... forever. We end up relaxing for the night which was totally enjoyable and then sent him off to work on Saturday. I am so thankful that he has a job, I just selfishly wish he had better hours so that I could see him more. (Prayers for a solution are much appreciated- I do not enjoy him not getting home until 11pm or midnight and neither does he!)
Saturday night when he got home from work the two of us headed out to Oktoberfest (a German-fest) in Addison. There was live German music, dancing and lots of great food. We also happened to run into some of my great IBM friends!
(All the girls!!)

Sunday was great as well. We got up early to meet a friend for church at the 11am but he ended up calling saying he couldn't make it so we decided to head out to Grapevine for Grapefest, a wine festival! We did a little shopping and walking around and even went to a winery. Neither of us are really wine-fanatics but we somehow managed to find two very delightful wines, both made here in Texas. They are both semi-sweet and served chilled for a warm day or after warm food but one is red and the other white. They are of the Homestead Winery in Ivanhoe, TX- the red is "Rose of Ivanhoe" and the white is "Sweet Home Ivanhoe". Believe me- if you like sweet wines you will fall in love with these- esp the red wine. We browsed a few more stands before leaving and found a beautiful wooden cross to hang in our house. I had been looking for something to hang over our fireplace but had not found the right thing and I just knew this was "it". After bringing it home to put up, we learned that it was maybe two inches too tall to fit there. We are now looking for a place to hang it in the house- I will post pictures at some point- it really is a nice work of art. Grapefest was a total hit- we saw lots of neat paintings, arts and crafts, watched a grape smashing contest where people stomped the grapes in barrels, saw a working blacksmith, and much much more. K & I really have come to appreciate any time we have together with him working so much lately. We headed home for a quick bite to eat and shower before going to church at 7pm. Church was fun but almost the MOST empty I have ever seen it. As K said to one of the men helping on the parking crew... "I guess most people love the Cowboys more than God today" ha! He was kidding but hopefully they had just all gone to different services :).
This morning was quite productive as well- esp for the two of us who usually sleep in now due to K's late night shifts. We rose around 9am and got to work. Took my car to get it inspected, Called AAA to have them tow the Jeep, met them at the location and led them to the car shop, came home, applied for more jobs, ate lunch, went to find out what this new construction was behind our neighborhood (hoping it was an early childhood center) and came back home so he could get ready for work.
Ends up the new (now finished) construction is a ... drum roll please... early childhood school!! I immediately got verrry excited because this place is brand new and literally about 500 feet away from the back entrance to our neighborhood. I quickly came home and got on their website and sent in my contact information to apply for a job. I am praying that maybe, just maybe, this is the reason that God has not allowed any of my other job opportunities to work out, so that I can work at this brand new school right by our house! Over the last couple of weeks I have started applying for various jobs- mainly sales, because I am starting to get desperate and that is the field of my professional experience. I still would much rather work with infants or toddlers or kiddos of any age for that matter but as the school year is getting underway I am, rather I have, lost almost all hope of that. This new school was a little flicker of hope in what was a seeming black tunnel. Please be praying for that as well as another job that I feel would be great at ERAC- it is a manager training position. I am also patiently waiting to hear back from another place about a project management job- be praying for all of these opportunities and that God would open the door best fitted for his plan in my life and that in the mean time he would fill my heart with peace, patience and security that He WILL PROVIDE! I have started having bad dreams about not having a job and have not really been getting any good sleep. Please pray for that also.
One HUGE answer to prayer this week (sorry I didn't mention it earlier when I was blogging about it) is that the Jeep was only a minor ($200 fix) rather than a $2,000 dollar fix that we had planned on- or buying a new car.... God was really watching out for us and we could not be more grateful!
The night is seemingly winding down and I am anxiously awaiting my husbands arrival. I am starting to feel a little sick so lets hope that its not going to be serious and that I can get over it quick!

All About Us and Chickfila

Words of Wisdom from kids:
When is it okay to kiss someone?
"The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone then you should marry them and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do." Howard age 8

As I sit here sipping a glass of chocolate milk I am thankful for a very good day! This morning I went to a preschool and kept 2 kids for the day, one was three the other four. I am exhausted and having a hard time writing but I did want to update with some fun stuff. So I worked for the first time since December- and man that felt good! I felt like I actually had purpose in life ha! Then I came home and hung out with the FI and then I took a much needed hour long afternoon nap. I have to say that I could get used to being done with my day between 3pm or 4pm... it was rather nice and much more enjoyable than the constant 6, 7 or even 8pm while at my old job. So yay for that today!
Also, got off "working" and had a voicemail from a Preschool/Daycare that I had called early last week. Long story short I have an interview with them on Thursday at 12:30cst so please please be praying for me!! How can you pray? That God's will be done and that no matter the outcome of the situation that He may be glorified!
This afternoon my sweet fiance took me to run some errands and then we went to dinner at Chick-fil-a. It was family night and I happened across a free kids meal! (WAHOO! free chickfila= heaven on earth!) KJ ordered a combo and I ordered a kids meal and the total was 6something dollars. He asked the guy working "hows that work?" and the guy explained when you purchase a combo Tuesday night then you get a free kids meal. I think we may have just started a new "Family Tradition" because there is always a craving needing to be filled by good old Chickfil-A! After that my sweet baby took me to Barnes and Noble for some book he wanted to get "us" but wouldn't tell me what it was because he wanted to surprise me! Anyways, ends up we get the book "All about Us"by Phillip Keel. Basically it is a book that you and your significant other fill out (be it boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, etc.). It has questions about yourself and about each other and has blanks in the book with a line where each of you answer the questions. We spent a couple of hours tonight filling that out and it really just made me love this man more! It was very refreshing and I would recommend it to anyone in a relationship that means something to them!!
Still looking for a restaurant to take everyone for dinner... heellllp!! Thanks ya'll!
