"7 Christmases" 2011: Part 2

Part 2:
Christmas Eve-Eve.  My mom, step-dad and sister, Audrey.  My other sister was in Texas and to be quite honest, I still have her gift and its not even wrapped-- I promise you will get it soon ha!  We rushed this one a little as my parents were on their way back to the mountains to spend time with my mom's family (which we didn't get to celebrate with this year).  We opened our presents at our house and Audrey opened hers in the car ha!

she loved her new tennis shoes :)

audrey thought her gift was funny? She got the new Harry Potter DVD and some coasters (bc she told K she was collecting them and he remembered, she didn't. sigh)

RG got some beautiful new clothes!
and some silly string... I never got the story behind that one? ha! my family is a hoot!

"7 Christmases" 2011: Part 1

K and I (and RG) have both been blessed with very large families which makes the holidays SUPER fun (no sarcasm here... okay maybe a little ha) !  Luckily everyone is pretty understanding of the fact that we are in HIGH demand and we can't be everywhere at once.  This year our Christmas was 7 fun parts! I am going to do a little re-cap {almost a month later} of all of the 7 "Christmases" complete with pictures, in 7 different posts.  {because one post would take me too long to finish and it itself would be too long}

Part One:
Sonja's (my stepmom) side of the family.  We enjoyed an early (Dec 20) Christmas dinner at none other than Logan's Roadhouse.  We had a great time enjoying each others company and some good food! Of course RG stole the spotlight again.

RG with her great aunt, Helen
Helen, RG and Sonja
Sonja, her brother and my cousin
all the men, can't you tell they are having a blast ha!

RG by the week: 12 weeks!

Jan 2-8, 2011
12 weeks!

Stats:
Still growing... sorry I haven't measured or weighed her since her 2 month apt.

Grandpa and "Belle" aka "Beauty and the Beast"

Daddy and "Belle"

All the "princesses" dressed up and ready for breakfast in the castle with Cinderella
Milestones:
Bearing weight on her legs without support. Able to push her legs up straight from a squatting position. Totally holding head/neck up 99% of time with good control. Enjoys sitting up much better than a cradled position.
When she is laying down if you grab her hands she can pull herself up to sit up with minimal effort. She can do this to stand but with greater effort.
She doesn't seem to be happily talking as much as before but she is definitely fussing at us when she needs our attention.

such a good sport on our 12+ hour drive

Sleep:
Sleep as been pretty good considering we weren't home at all this week and we were in super cramped quarters. Starting Tuesday you could tell she really wasn't feeling well because she was much fussier at times. Her naps were shorter in the morning - where she would usually nap 2-3 hrs in the am she would only sleep 45 mins- an hour.

taking a little nap on the bus ride to Magic Kingdom
Feeding:

She took more bottles than normal because we were constantly on the go. This did make her have one quite "chunky" dirty diaper that K was lucky enough to get stuck changing by himself in the Cracker Barrel bathroom on our trip home. She is still a great eater no matter what the circumstance.

family photo opp on the bus

showing off her dress :)

Clothes:

This week was a mix of newborn and 0-3 because we had more warm clothes in 0-3 than newborn, however some 0-3 are perfect and others are just still too large. Still in newborn diapers

on a walk to Downtown Disney

First:
New years day!(we drove all day), family reunion, trip to Disney (Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Downtown Disney), ride: Carousel of Progress (at Magic Kingdom-she slept the entire time), first time meeting all the Disney Princesses, bus ride (from our resort- the tree houses in Saratoga Springs- to Magic Kingdom, meeting great Gma Issinghoff, Aunt Stacy, Uncle Bret, Maren, & Eli, Keith, Wendy and John, first long road trip (approx 12 hrs), first time in GA and Florida, first time meeting Rob, Amy and Olivia, first doggie kiss from Alexia, stay in a resort and a hotel (the Hilton), first cold, trip to Cracker Barrel, got her first North Face Denali jacket, trip to the outlets, train ride (in Magic Kingdom from Frontier Land to main gate),

1st train ride
lunch with Amy and Olivia

meeting amy & rob

Mommy:
Enjoyed a mango margarita the last night at Disney and it was wonderful! My in laws watched rg and I didn't have a worry in the world! After the long week k and I stayed in a hotel with RG- after unloading the car k brought me an ice cold corona and he had a Stella while RG rested so beautifully. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the quiet and put our feet up for a little while after a hectic week!
(sorry these both include drinking ha ha it was just that kind of trip lol)

Challenges:
All 3 of us being sick! If it's not one of us it another :(
The long trip, the drive (even though rg did awesome!), a week away from home with an infant!

Behavior:
She was awesome and such a trooper through the whole trip!! Again, 99% of the time she was so happy and content people watching at the parks haha! Tuesday she had a screaming/crying "fit" at our house where NOTHING would make her happy including nursing (this has never not satisfied her! :( ) so we bundled her (it was in the 50's) and took her on a walk from the tree houses we stayed in to Saratoga springs. She immediately quit crying.  After about an hour she finally fell asleep but scowled the whole time she was both awake and asleep. Luckily, she woke up happier :)

the scowl

RG by the week: 10/11 weeks

Dec 20- Jan 1
{you can see I'm a bit behind :-P}
10 weeks!
11 weeks
Her New Years Eve outfit! Compliments to my moms sister, Aunt Donna P.

Stats:
Grrrowing!

Milestones:
She has started pulling her chest up (not just her head/neck) when she's leaning back sitting up and when she's on her tummy.  She's talking a lot! We got a great video of her fussing at Karl ha She is loooving her fists, hands and fingers and will suck and chew on anything she can get in her mouth. (including her rattle from lala)She's blowing lots of bubbles and drooling. Lala helped her hold on to the rattle and she's working on shaking it/ holding it on her own. Lala put her fingers around it and squeezed her hand and shook the rattle then let go and she would do it a little on her own. She's putting herself to sleep great! She rarely cries for long (if any) when she's falling asleep. And she will almost always will fall asleep without much assistance. She loooves having her hands beside her face or covering her face when she is falling asleep- she "hugs" the passy zebra.She's loves holding on to things- hair, clothes, blankets, the passy zebra legs (they are the perfect size for her little hands), and even the boob when nursing.

Feeding:
She's eating great still about every 2-3 hrs on avg. She will drain a 4oz bottle like nothing when we give her formula. I'm still not pumping like I should... Shame on me! It's such a hastle for me!! Ugh!Sleep:7+ hrs. Christmas eve only 4 but things were different- we were at sonjas. Then Christmas night she slept 11 hrs- and then I finally woke her to eat bc I was in pain ha! Her naps are hit and miss but usually only last around 30-45 mins if I'm lucky. Again- she is putting herself to sleep if I put her in her bouncer, snuggled in with her passy and her sheep/glow worm- with a blanket tucking her in. Bed time is generally around 11pm-12am and she's out for the night.Behavior:Such a fun smiley happy talkative girl! She's such a GREAT BABY! I know I keep saying that but it's so true! She only gets fussy when we are out and about and mommy doesn't pay attention to feeding cues/times and her naps get skipped/shortened.She's more fussy in the evenings- I'm wondering if it's bc she is more tired...?Loves:Waking up and stretching. She's always in the best mood. Bath time. Sleeping. Hanging out with mom and dad. Tv- which I'm not thrilled about- but if it's on she can't take her eyes off it. She's content and mesmerized watching it. She will even get fussy if you block her view! She loves watching football with daddy! Sucking her hands and fist.When people talk to her and smile at her- she always smiles back. Riding in the car (but hates stop lights and getting buckled in her carseat).Grabbing things.Cuddling.Clothes:I totally thought she was outgrowing newborn diapers so I pulled out a size one... And man are those huge! I thought what the heck and put it on her anyways. Well let's just say it came up to her chest and when she wet it it totally leaked! So we r sticking with newborns a litle longer and just not velcroing it as tight. She has worn a few 0-3 clothes but they are still a little large.Some of her newborn clothes are getting a little snug (some skin tight ha) so it'd just a matter of time :( although, I am excited about some adorable new outfits she got from Xmas from lala. Her newborn pants are more like capris now ha! Target brand seems to run smaller than carters and others. Favorite Moments:Christmas and all the other 1st's! (there were LOTS these 2 weeks!)Most Challenging:It's been a good week! We are tackling her head and ears issue and she's doing great. She has had a stuffy nose for a week or so but it's not slowing her down or seeming to bother her one bit. Looking Forward To:Our trip to Disney!

Where to begin hodgepodge....

WOW!
{you're still here!?! I'm thankful yet surprised!!!}

Sooo much has been going on that I really have no idea where to even begin.  If you are friends with me on facebook you probably have a better idea than even I do! ha ...
These last 3+ weeks have been a blur and there is so much that I want to blog about and don't know where I am going to find the time...
I mean really, I never even blogged about picking out our first Christmas tree or even our six or seven Christmas for that matter... or New Years...
Oh and Christmas Cards/Birth Announcements... yup I ordered them but they are still sitting in my bedroom waiting to be addressed! Yikes... they even read, "Merry Christmas" on them... are people going to judge me if I still send them out!? They are really too cute not to ha!
Oh and last week we were on vacation and have SO many adorable pics from our trip that I want to share.
And my blog... I'm ready for a new look...a new design maybe?
Oh and my daughter... she is almost 3 months old! YIKES! and I am SOO behind on her updates :(  I MUST catch up!! She is 12 weeks old today!

Okay... so where to begin... we shall see... I promise I am trying! {can I blame the fact that sweet girl, myself AND hubby have been sick all week for my lack of blogging?! }

Here is a short video of my sweet girl to keep you content until the blog posts become more regular (which will be soon I hope because hubby surprised me with a new laptop when he came home from work today that is 999x's faster than my ancient one from the 90's ... kidding... sort of.)

Oh and Happy New Year since I have been m.i.a since before then... :)
