Wishing.... plus Praying for Matt

Nothing too exciting to post on today... Got up early this AM in time to make the 9 o'clock service at church.  Now I remember why I enjoy going to the 7PM service!! I am by no means an early bird, and I don't care who says "The early bird gets the worm...." Because guess what... "The late worm LIVES!" wahoo! Okay I will admit if it involves hunting or fishing or a fun trip of some sort, then I will happily rise before the sun :)

...I WISH! :(

Well on a more serious note I would like to ask for your prayers regarding the minister at my wonderful church.  His name is Matt Chandler and is the husband to a beautiful woman of God, Lauren and also 3 beautiful children.  On Thursday morning Matt had a seizure and after speaking with some doctors they found a "small mass" on his temporal lobe.  Please be keeping Matt and his family in your prayers. He is doing well and in good spirits but will continue to covet your prayers.  For updates please visit: Praying For Matt Chandler I know his family is so thankful for you!

Looking forward to spending the next 2 days with the hubs! :)

A Wonderful Thanksgiving!

I would just like all of you to know how THANKFUL I am for SO many things.
My Savior Jesus, my husband, my family, life, for a nice house to live in, for the clothes on my body, my husbands job, my kitty, my friends, for unexpected blessings, for the delicious food we were able to enjoy, having family all over the country, for the beautiful sunsets God paints, for the flowers, for air to breath, and for promising me everlasting life!

This was the first REAL holiday that my hubby and I got to enjoy together, and let me just tell you we couldn't have asked for a better one (except if we had all of our family in one spot with us)! It was terrific!

Wednesday night late my family came in town, my stepdad, mom, and two sisters.  K had to work on Thanksgiving which was not our preference *but again we are thankful that he has a job* so all the women spent most of the day in the kitchen.  I wont lie to you and tell you that my stepdad didn't help because he did. :)  Just a couple of weeks ago my stepmom sent me her and my dads fancy china and silverware that was also my mom and dads.  It was something that she wanted me to have, and a very special gift for me to receive!  I didn't know it at the time but we were going to have my whole family (now 6 members) plus two of our very newly-wedded friends Em and Justin, over for Thanksgiving.  That makes 8. YAY for having a big dinner at our house.  My father and my youngest sis polished the silver while the rest of us spent the day cooking.  We started out wanting to cook a turkey breast and a few other sides, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, etc.  Well when you have six members, all of who have a different favorite Thanksgiving dish, you end up with lots and lots and lots and lots of food! We ended up cooking a WHOLE turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls, gravy, sweet potato soufflĂ©, a veggie crunch, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, cherry delight, marshmallow salad, and pumpkin and pecan pies! :)  I'm getting very full just thinking about all of the food! To say the least, we cooked ALL day long and it was a blast but very exhausting! Around 7:30 we all sat down to a beautifully cooked meal, and a gorgeous table set with the nice china and silver.  I am kicking myself now because (gasp) I forgot to take ANY pictures what-so-ever! GRR! I can not believe I didnt take a single one of US or of the table... basically the only pictures I took were of the Turkey. haha I am not sure what that says about me but thats the reality. ha!

Yesterday we slept in for a good while which was much needed! We laid around the house for a few hours watching TV and just relaxing and then we decided that since it was such a BEAUTIFUL day (around 70 degrees and sunny and breezy) that we would take our party to the park.  We took a frisbee and soccer ball and the 6 of us had a BLASSSTY blast! I really wish that we could do this at least once a week.  It was so much fun and a great work out on top of that!  So very enjoyable.  There is also a really nice playground at the park there.  The monkey bars dominated us all but it was still a great time!  We came home, relaxed, watched "Elf" and ate some leftovers.  Around 8pm we went to Barnes and Noble because Mike Huckabee (the presidential candidate) was doing a book signing! We got his book and got to talk to him for a little while.  He is such a nice guy and I love that he is not afraid to stand up for his Christian beliefs!  I think that he would be a great leader for our country.  It was a pleasure to meet him. I did capture this on film :) ha!  (Pics below).  To end the night we decided to watch the new Disney movie "UP"

... now our family had mixed emotions on this movie but I will be very honest.  This movie made me mad and irritated me.  It is not my fav. disney movie.  I had high hopes (I love little old men and boy scouts) and this movie totally let me down!

Anyways, today my family headed home and left me in a very quiet house (the hubs was of course working again).  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving but thoroughly missed the rest of our family! I wish that we could all be together, oh how I anxiously await that day when we are ALL together forever in Heaven :) What a joyous day that will be- to be with our Savior and all of our friends and family! That is how I will end for today.  Happy THANKSgiving :)

Fossil Rim Fun

Well as I promised I would update you on the fun times we had this weekend.  It started out friday afternoon with my sweet cousin and his wife stopping by the house and hanging out.  We went and got dinner at a yummy Korean Restaurant and then to my favorite Ice-cream place ever, Yogurtland!! K and I always enjoy hanging out with them! My cousin and K both are obsessed with jeeps and they are always taking about new ways of fixing up my cousins Jeep...etc.  My cousins wife and I always just enjoy talking and catching up, I am so sad that in just a sort period of time she is leaving for Afghanistan :( She and my cousin are both in the Air Force and we are so proud of them but will miss her dearly!
Late Friday night my mom and stepdad finally arrived to our house, they were celebrating their 15th wedding anniv. and they spent Friday night with us before enjoying some time alone Sat-Monday.
Saturday morning we left for Fossil Rim (all of us but K because sadly he had to work).  It is just a couple of hours away from our house which is not bad at all.  Only a few times a year they do a Fossil Dig, well this weekend was one of those weekends!  We took a short hike to get to our site and then arrived to look for the fossils.  We found TONS of them! After the dig, we hiked back out and went on a "safari" type ride.  I am not giving this enough justice at all!  They have literally DOZENS of species of animals (they are an animal conservation group) and you take a ride through their 1700 acres of land and get to feed these animals (that literally walk right up to the car) and eat out of your hand!! If you are ever in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area I highly recommend this place! They also have cabins that you can spend the night in (which is what my parents did for the rest of their extended weekend) .  Enjoy the pictures :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes, I said it, "Happy Thanksgiving" and I do realize that Thanksgiving is not technically until next week. I'll explain in a bit.

Well KJ had yest and today off (Thank you God!) yes, we did absolutely nothing.  Most of our company left Sunday but I was so thankful that my boo got to stay until Tuesday.  So Tuesday morning we got up at the crack of dawn and drove to the airport to drop her off.  Karl then went to work and that left me a pretty miserable day... I had to be a "stay at home" all alone and it was no fun.  So naturally when K gets a day off (esp after a crazy weekend like this weekend) all he wants to do is lay around and I didn't have a problem with that at all!  Today was a little more productive, we got up in the AM and cleaned up the house some and went shopping.  My parents will be here this weekend (today is their 15th Wedding Anniv- Happy Anniv Momma and P!) and they are going to stay the night here on the way to their "Get-away".  I'm excited :)

So this afternoon K and I have been working on making our favorite Thanksgiving dishes.  For him it is a Marshmallow Salad and mine is a Sweet Potato Sufflet mmm! Some of my ex co-workers, who also happen to be some of my great friends, are having a Thanksgiving Dinner tonight at their place!! I can not tell you how excited I am that I get to have Thanksgiving two weeks in a row! How awesome is that!?!  What are your favorite Thanksgiving dishes that you look forward to each year?

Catching it on FIRE!

Well all you faithful followers, I have been promising you all some fun from this weekend and now is the time!

But real quick before I start that I just wanted to say a quick Thank YOU  for all of you who were keeping me in your prayers today for my interview, I greatly appreciate it! Things went well and the boss lady told me that she thought I would be a great addition.  I am still unsure as to if I am going to move forward with this particular job but again, I can not thank you enough! It is so comforting to be surrounded by such a great group of believers who lift each other up in prayer!! Please continue to pray for my clarity to where God is calling me to serve his kingdom.  God is so good!

Now about the weekend adventures....

Friday:
My "boo" flew into town and I picked her up and we came back to the house and played around waiting for K to get off work .  A few hours later our friend Roy arrived after a long 6 hour trip and we all hung out and ordered pizza and just chilled.  Our friend Ashley and her daughter (who was the flower girl at the wedding) were at the rehearsal dinner but came and spent the night with us as soon as they were finished.  We had a full house all weekend and it was so much fun!!

My Boo and I Friday night hangin out

Saturday:
Ahhh the fun continues: We get up semi-early and get ready for the wedding... let me just tell you that our crew sure cleans up well! Everyone was looking so snazzy and I just loved it!  We headed to the city and to the church and the ceremony was beautiful.  Afterward we headed to the reception.  There were two sizes of tables - large ones and smaller ones.  Well the tables were filling up fast so we grabbed a smaller one for the fact that it was front row on the dance floor.   Well it didn't seem like a terrible idea although we did start to get a little crammed once we got our dinner plates and drinks. The tables were decorated very pretty with flowers as the center piece and small candles around them.  Well one of my smart friends , ahem my boo, sat her drink down a little to close to one of the candles and the napkin that was wrapped around the drink fell in the candle and immediately caught fire.  It was pretty nerve wrecking at first but once it was put out by the semi-responsible Roy, by smashing a bottle on it, we all broke out in hysterical laughing!!! It was pretty great... and I made sure to capture the fun by getting a snapshot to share with all of you :)

So I realize that the pic doesn't look that great but it was wild :-P

The rest of the weekend we just spent recovering from the wonderful time we had at Cyd and Ben's Wedding! It was absolutely breathtaking and a great time also! I will leave you with some pictures, Enjoy :)
