26 Weeks! 6 1/2 Months :) EEE!!!! :) :) :)

How far along? 26Weeks!  6 1/2 months!!
(June 27- July 3)

Size of baby: Baby is the size of an English hothouse cucumber
Your baby is as tall as an English hothouse cucumber and weighs about 1 2/3 pounds. (Length: 14 inches, head to heel.)

Here is what we have been up to this week:

Weight Gain: no clue... I weighed myself a couple of weeks ago and had not gained that much (if any at all since my last apt) but I will be anxious to see at my next apt... I am def. eating all the time, and I am always hungry!

Maternity Clothes : well I have still been mixing reg/maternity but I am realizing that I need to get some more maternity clothes-- my regular shirts are getting too short to wear in the front... that belly is about to start poking out ha!

Sleep:I have been sleeping great- staying up a little later than normal but I am getting to sleep in and I am loving that (still only getting up once during the night to go the the restroom and then again around 7am).  I also have taken the occasional nap and boy are those nice too! I'm always tired I feel.

Best Moment of this week: all the sleep I have been getting, actually watching our little girl move around, and making another trip to the beach!

Movement: love feeling it! and seeing it! and showing others it! (My cousin Marianna saw it yesterday while we were sitting on the beach!)

Food cravings:  oh I don't know...all kinds of food, everything looks good- esp around 10pm-12:30am... haha always hungry :)

What I miss: my hubby!! (I didn't get to see him any this weekend and I'm not sure the next time I will see him :( ); my naturally straight hair (its turning curly-- never in my life has it had curl!!)...  my baby girl! yes, I can not wait to meet her! I keep seeing all these cute babies on the beach and look forward to next summer having my own :)

Symptoms: my lower back has been hurting some the past couple of days after sitting for any period of time, while taking long car rides my hips/butt get really sore after about 30 minutes, I'm really tired- a lot., a couple of times my hands have gone to sleep, stuffy nose (always!) or post nasal drip-ew!, beautiful- long nails that I am loving!, indigestion/ a little bit of heartburn... I have just discovered tums and I think they do help some :) yay for relief!, and restless leg syndrome... they are always moving (it doesn't help that this already runs in my family...ha) when I'm sitting down they shake back and fourth without me even noticing sometimes.

Gender: girl... I will be sharing her name soon... maybe ;)

What I'm looking forward to: my next doc apt... it was a nightmare to get but it seems like it has been so long since I have been to the doc I am looking forward to seeing how everything is going-- although I am not looking forward to the glucose screening that will be happening :( ... what are symptoms of gestational diabetes anyways?? any tips here? (not that I think I am going to have any problems-- I don't- I'm just curious)

 Baby bump:

(I couldn't decide on the pic so you get to see them all :) sorry

oh okay and one more for FUN! :) ha!.............
right after this she was moving all over the place... I think this little girl is bound to be a beach bum who likes having fun!! :)
HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!!!!!!!!! :)

The Baby in Week 26:
What's up with your baby? She now weighs a full two pounds and measures nine-plus inches. And this week, her eyes, which until now were developing under fused eyelids, start to open. Of course, there's not much to see in there, but if your baby spots a bright light (or hears a loud noise) near your belly, you may notice an increase in fetal activity. (“Hey, I'm in here, Mommy! Where’s the party!”) What accounts for that response? Her brain is more developed and sophisticated.

Your Body in Week 26:
If a full night's rest has become elusive, welcome to the (sleepless) world of pregnancy insomnia (thankfully not my problem....yet?). Between heartburn (yes) and leg cramps (not so much anymore), bathroom runs (one or two) and that big beach ball (with its protruding navel! sorta) beneath your nightie, it's no wonder your body's having trouble calming down and drifting off. But there are lots of tactics to try that should help keep you in bed (and asleep!) instead of pacing the floor; these include daytime exercise, a daily dose of fresh air, and limiting fluids before you hit the hay.
