First trip to the Beach!

This past weekend our little family of THREE made our way to the beach.  This was Raleigh Grace's first (of many) trips to the beach.  My granddaddy (GGdaddy) owns a house that he bought the year I was born-- I have always joked that he bought the house for me.  I'm convinced that he did (if not for me, for all of the grandkids and now GREAT grandkids). This beach is also a very special place for K and I for many reasons... this is where he first told me he loved me and where he asked me to be his bride! :)

The weather was not projected to be great but K and I decided to make the trip anyways since its only about a 3 hr. drive for us. Before leaving town we stopped by GGDaddy's house and said hi and picked up some things to take to the beach.

When we got to the beach RG was all smiles! It was not raining yet but it was dark so we just hung out at the house.

they were talking about what RG wanted to do at the beach

Saturday, we got up and took RG to our favorite breakfast hole-in-the-wall place called Nell's.
We went back to the house and relaxed. It rained pretty much all afternoon and RG enjoyed 2 naps (both 2+ hours) while K and I lounged around watching movies.

Saturday night we went to one of my favorite seafood restaurants- the Seafood Hut.  This is where RG found  her love for hush puppies! :)
We came home, baked cookies and had milk and cookies then called it a night.

Sunday morning K went to the grocery store and came back with tons of fresh fruit (and made a fruit salad), bacon and eggs and prepared an amazing breakfast.  Sunday afternoon we were finally able to take a walk on the beach! It was very windy and a bit chilly. Some people who were also walking stopped and wanted to see RG- they also took a couple family pictures for us :)

Sunday evening, K's sister came and hung out for a little while before we headed back home. We enjoyed dinner at Sharky's.

Overall, we had a great weekend. K and I had a wonderful time and I am pretty sure RG enjoyed her time also. Despite what she says in the following video :) ha!

  1. I'm so jealous of everyone who lives near a beach! Especially having a baby, there are so many things for them to explore...the closest thing we have is a lake, so not the same. Sorry the weather didn't totally cooperate, but it still looks like you guys had a great time. Love the pictures of her with daddy and her head sticking out of his coat!

Can you picture their big baby belly's in little bikinis together?! If one baby at the beach isn't cute enough, picture TWO!!! HA!
